<正> On October 17, Russian President Boris Yeltsin sacked his security chief Alexander Lebed after a bare four months in office, saying he could no longer tolerate his lack of team spirit and obvious ambition to become Russia's next leader. Yeltsin signed the order dismissing Lebed from his twin posts as national security adviser and secretary of the Security Council. On October 19, Yeltsin appointed Ivan Rybkin as new Russian security chief to replace Lebed.
